There’s a 1,001 stories you can peruse the internet on with topics about Americans not using their paid time off or being afraid to. I am one of them. It is difficult to cultivate a cookie cutter story because every company has its own ways and practices. Some are super lenient with their PTO policies and others are more antiquated. I have experienced more of the latter, which has only increased my fears of feeling unprofessional because I want to enjoy a day here and there.
